| | 13.5 biking with a lot of hill climbing. |
| | Ahh nice good run with my friend Mary. A good long run not too fast before Moab next weekend. |
| | Progressive miles. Each one a little faster than before, with .25 cool down. Countdown to Moab 4 days until departure :) |

| Race: |
canyonlands half marathon (1.1 Miles) 00:03:15 | | I ran this with a friend who was completing this distance for the first time. It was a great workout for her, I know I could have done a bit faster on my own. |
| |
| | good little tempo run, showing that I didnt push that hard at the race on saturday. |
| | On the treadmill with 8.0 incline. Speed naturally was much slower but I really wanted to work my butt off ;) |
| | Nice decent length. Just over an hour |
| | OUCH! About half an hour faster than last weeks half marathon. It hurts but I guess I wanted that! |
| | nice and easy trying to keep my muscles loose after my hard workout on saturday. Will do 4-5 during biggest loser tomorrow. Love that show, even though I would have been voted off a very long time ago! |
| | I wanted to do more but I was at the oval. I had gone into the bathroom and a woman was able to open the door even though it was locked. I was mortified and wasn't going to continue running on the track and having to see her every lap. |
| | I am going to try and get a couple more walking miles in today. Goal is 40 for the week. I need to repent for all my easter treats! |
| | Mostly fairly slow but with a lot of inclines! |
| | did most of this at a 3.0 incline on the treadmill. 1 hr total |
| |
| | Long, and hilly, and I'm tired.................... |
| |
| | Didn't have a lot of time so decided to do a practice 5k run. Finished in 32:45 my best time in the last 5 years. Think I might PR fairly soon :) |
| | Nice long hill wanted to work the backside. |
| | 30 minutes of spin class made we want to blow chunks. Then 30 minutes of yoga, I know I need some more strength training. |
| | I went up to syracuse to run with my sis in law. My longest for the last year and a half was 13 miles. I did 17.7 with her and she did a few more to make 20. It was a nice run and I was very happy that I was fast enough to not make it completely drag out and I was slow enough to make her slow her pace down 1 to 2 minutes a miles so that she can do the distance. She tends to out too fast. She laughed during the run saying she had never had so consistent in her pace. Now THAT is something I am good at. We kept every mile at about 12:10-12:30 even with hills except for the water stop miles, and the one mile where it dropped into the 11's. Not bad, not bad. |
| |
1 hr spin class this morning, the a full day at school followed by water gun fight in the halls and 3.25 at an 1130 avg pace to finish off the night. Pretty full day. Tomorrow we are going to try the muscle buster class then walk the 4 miles round trip to the library to pick up the latest in fantasy/romance we are ready. When I say we I mean my friend Mary and I, chris isn't into reading romance with me. |
| | 1hr muscle buster class followed by musical stroller for the next 4.7+ miles to the bank, the library, and back home. |
| | Felt like a fumbling fool at zumba this morning but at least I was sweating. Annoyed as all get out because I sooooo have not been over eating. Not even eating my weekly or exercise points and I have increased the amount of time working out everyday and I have gained a pound. What gives? |
| Race: |
cookie chaser 5k (3.1 Miles) 00:30:45, Place overall: 179, Place in age division: 5 | | Yippe. I ran well and I am less than one minute from an all time PR. Usually I get close to a PR at the end of summer, not this year it is coming down! My 3rd mile was my fastest by 30 seconds. I think I paced it fairly well and was sufficiently spent by the end :) |
| | An hour at spin class. After my blood donation on Saturday I had to drop it down just a notch but got a sufficient cardio workout. My exertion level was the same, a good hard push, but the level of work it took me to get there was less. I weighed myself today and I am down 40 lbs. Not too shabby, just have 40-60 more to go. |
| |
| | Lots of wind and a dangerous run, almost didn't make it to the potty stop. Errrr. Anywho I got it done :) |
| | Just one quickie today then headed off to the gym to do an hour of cardio kickboxing. Not to toot my own horn but I was able to keep up at the high end. Higher kicks, more jumping, deeper squats etc. Feel the burn............. |
| |
| | felt great, ran with a friend. Wish we had more time but those darn swimming lesson came too soon. |
| | One hour of spin class then 7.7 miles on the treadmill while kids were still in bed. Well for part of it at least. I was watching Take the Lead, man I really want to learn how to dance....... Weight: down 43.2 |
| | done in 66 minutes. Not sure what the pace works out to be. It was one of those burn off the stress workouts. Felt great!! Maybe I'll hit a class at the gym tonight :) |
| |
| | Did a 1 hr spin class then 4 miles after work followed by an hour of zumba step. |
| | Churchill Jr. High fun run. I pushed Loren in the stroller and Natalie did the whole thing. It was a little hard to move around all those dwaddling kids but we had fun! |
| | 1.5 mile warm up but now I am off to zumba. I will probably try to get a few more miles in afterwards. Gotta keep that weight down! |
| | NIce and easy and it was WONDERFUL!! Thanks mary for coming with me and Josh her truly wonderful husband who watched the kids for us! We have such great men in our lives!!!! |
| | I did the five miles in 56 minutes. I feel pretty good about how my pace is coming along! |
| | NIce slow long run with a friend. We threw in some large hills in the middle! |
| | 10 miles in the morning with Mary. They were pretty slow but it was miles. We had little inclines but after her longest run ever on Saturday can't except a lot. 5 miles in the afternoon hiking up Mueller Park with the family. We had a picnic while we were up there. The kids did amazingly well and I am so proud of them. They were even running on the way back. Can't walk through a store but hey a five mile hike no big deal........ |
| | Very slow miles with Mary but we got some good hills in there too. Had to bail on the 5k later that afternoon, just way too much going on that day. |
| | Started with a few fast miles to kind of see where I am at and if it might be possible for me to break my 5k PR at the end of this month. Did 3 miles in 30:19. PR is 29:55, can race adrenaline and another 6 pounds lighter make the difference? I then bought the new stephenie meyer book and ran 1 more mile home so Chris could go to work. I did 4.5 miles on the treadmill while reading the book. 1 mile was at a 5.5 incline all others were at 1 incline. I can kind of feel it in my hamstrings. Good, good, good. Then there was a two mile walk with the kids to the park to play on the swings. I am ready for a nap and I haven't even tackled my kitchen today. I have to have it done before the repairman shows up tomorrow to fix my recalled washer. |
| | Nice easy miles with Mary. Next time though I am going to make her work harder she's taking it too easy and not progressing well. But it was a nice morning out today we were scoping out the the westfest 5k course. I haven't run this course yet. |
| | Zumba! Definitely works some different muscles and it's just fun! |
| | Average 10:30, felt harder than that so I am going to blame the fact I ate a good sized dinner 15 minutes before we started. Barf nuggets man, but I didn't actually blow any chunks |
| |
| | very hilly miles on dirt roads out in Duck Creek Village........ |
| | Wasatch Back! It was wonderful and I didn't even mind the extra miles on leg 35. It was a beautiful trail and I can't wait to go back and find it again. |
| | very easy slow miles to loosen up from this weekend. |

Westfest 5k (3.12 Miles) 00:31:22, Place overall: 148, Place in age division: 15 | |
It was a pretty good day considering all tha happened the week before. I donated blood on the wednesday and did a pretty tough 23 mile bike ride friday night and didn't get to bed until almost 2am to get up and run the race. Not a PR but I wasn't expecting that. I ran the first mile too fast of course 9:27, the 10:24, then 10:40, last .1 was pretty good too. Anyways not too terribly bad and I had fun running with a girl from my home ward in California who now lives in evanston. It was her fastest 5k ever.
I won a head lamp at the drawing! Yippe I will be ready for WBR next year :) |

3 miles this morning. 12:30, 11:40, 10:40. I am thinking I need to be running most my miles at an 11 pace now. I think I might e taing things too easy. But then again aren't you supposed slow down? Did 1.5 later to park and back with kids on their bikes. I had to jog just to keep them in sight.
I think I will walk to free lunch with the kids and let natalie ride her two wheeler. She is so proud of that! It's so much fun to watch her. Oh and I discovered this morning that she is Team Jacob. Didn't realize that she likes Twilight!
| |
| | Did a nice little loop in St. Anthony Idaho. Made a quick stop at the other of my twin aunts house about half way through! I really needed it :) |
| | Ran with Natalie who was doing the Liberty 5k in Rexburg ID. She took first in her age but it was an awful race. Course was nice but it was a bit windy. They gave us a t shirt, and had water at the end. That's it. No raffle no swag bag no coupons. It really kind of stunk in the funness of 5k's. They were slow with the results, about an hour to get them done and they only had about 120 participants and the guy was GR-ump-PY! Natalie took first in her age and got a medal. She was sooooo very happy. |
| | Natalie did the first 4 with me on her bike. She is getting better at her two wheeler but still lacks confidence, but she can do it! Chris ran those 4 with us too. He then got on his bike with the kids in tow while I ran another 6.5. Not bad for a tuesday mornin'. |
| | 3 miles on treadmill. Mile 1 easy warm up 11:30, mile two still felt good at 10:50, then kept picking up the pace for the last mile. Time for number three was about 9:45. I did another 1.5 mile jogging behind kids to free lunch and back. I have a new recipe I want to try today so will be heading out to the store soon. June/July have been hard weight months. Err, too much new food being offered to me all of the time. I need some consistency but any weight I gain comes off the next week of controlling my portions again. All in all I am still down 48 lbs since november. I need to loose a total of 75 at least. |
| |
| | RHPC 1/2 I got lucky today because I was able to spend the night in American Fork so I didn't have to get up as early to do the race. I didn't even realize who all the people were who were there. It was lots of fun. I was nervous about starting off too fast but I averaged about 11:30 on the way up the canyon(was sooo glad to turn around) I then averaged 10:30 on the way back down. YIPPEE and I even had a potty stop. Total time was 2:25 that is only 7 minutes from my all time PR and that was over 5 years ago! It also happened to be 50 minutes faster than Moab 1/2 THIS YEAR! (Ok, so I could have run Moab half faster than that but I was pacing with a "virgin" halfer-who I talked into doing the race) But still even if I had pushed it I probably would have finished in 2:45ish. I am very pleased with my run today and can't wait until next year!!! |

Oooh it was not a good start. We got down there late and had to set the tent up in the dark but thankfully it was not raining. They had already cleaned up the dinner by the time we got there and the shirts ran really big!! I was just one tired, stressed out cranky chick. Plus the rain/lightning/last minute course changes weren't winning me over.
Morning came and it was beautiful we had great weather. Kelly, Smooth, Leslie, and I were there and I recognized some friends from LocoMotion. We were out in the middle of nowhere and it was lovely. Had to try very very hard not to go out too fast because 31 miles is quite a distance for me. Somewhere around mile 10 I think the was a tombstone shaped rock that had RIP painted on it. My response to that was oh that is so funny, to that is just wrong, but I loved it all the same.
The view was gorgeous, temperature was great, jumped over a fairly large crack in the road and didn't jump far enough and fell into the hole up to my thigh! I felt like a billy goat with some of the hills I had to climb. I ran with Leslie until the turn around and then picked up the pace a little. Turn around was too early because the road was impassible, and the race ended up being only a little over 28 miles. Running back I was feeling ok but was having some girlie problems. That just made me mad. If anything was going to make me hurt and slow down it definitely wasn't going to be that so I picked up the pace a little more and started passing some people. That is a new concept for me. I was ooing and ahhing over all the pretty rocks, strata, and intrusions I could see. It was secluded and beautiful. Chris rode his bike out and caught me about mile 18. We had some fun conversation and then when I stepped right in front of the two foot snake that was crossing the road and screamed Chris giggled for the next few miles. Not so funny!! Oh I was a little annoyed with the tag a long girl scout cookies at the aid stations. I love those but can't really tolerate them during a run!
The last segment throught the goblins was hilarious. It was like an obstacle course, up, down, around, find the next pumpkin and head to it until you see the next one. Bad part is if you are sufficiently messed in the head exhausted it was a little hard to too but did really take your mind off the miles. Another bad thing was I had such a desire to find stuff in the pumpkins but alas there was nothing.
Later that night we had smores and chatted and played with Kelly's family and we had a blast. In the end I really enjoyed it and even it is was short I was still way ahead of my previous record of 8:45. |
| |
| | Happy birthday to me :) I went to the gym and did an hour of turbo kick. I wanted a workout without running due to the ultra last weekend. It was fun, I really like the teacher. |
| |
| | a little over three miles on the elliptical. Just wanted to get a little cardio without as much work on the legs. This is a recovery week. Dragged my feeet, but I can't let the fat girl in my head win. Plus my Mary came with me so we both made and worked. Yes! Now if those birthday cupcakes would just dissappear! |
| | 7 mile run with Locomotion. Had a wonderful time. |
| | 3 miles in before work. I actually have to work all five day this week and have a ton of activities planned for Saturday, I must make sure I don't blow my eating! Mile times 11:53, 10:45, 9:36 I should be at the gym tonight doing zumba step too!! |
| | 1 hour boot camp weight class at the gym |
| |
Speed work out
Half mile warm up
6x50 pick up sprints with same distance walk between sprints
6x100 sprints 20 sec, 20 sec, 20, 20, 20, 21
Half mile cool down |

Okay just as an update. I kicked the cupboard door (I was trying to be a rockette) and broke my toe in 3 places. I am sort of out of commission for a while :( I'll be back!
| | 800 meter swim 40 minutes spin. |
| | 15 miles on recumbent bike. YUCK! I did not like it! I have a few sore spots from the seat not quite comfortable but I did and got a really good sweat out of it too! |
